What We Feed and How We Heal: Dietetics in Canada
Catherine Morley, PhD, RD, FDC
Catherine's (they/them) work comprises writing, research, speaking, mentoring, advocacy, art making related to their two primary research interests, how eating and feeding fundamentally change when living with changed health status or at the end of life, and queering dietetics. Cath is also interested in the history of dietetics and dietetic practices in Canada.
Cath is registered as a dietitian in Nova Scotia, a Death Doula Candidate (Home Hospice Association), and President of the West Hants Hospice Society. Cath holds a PhD in Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies (U Calgary), an MA in Adult Education (UBC), a BASc in Applied Human Nutrition (U Guelph), diplomas in Textile Arts and Documentary Film (Capilano U), and completed a Dietetic Internship at Vancouver General Hospital. Cath's first solo book, No Love Like It: Feeding Someone Who is Sick (FriesenPress, 2025), is a hybrid of reporting on their research on caregiving, and eating and feeding challenges, memoir, research participants' personal narratives, and creative writing.
